Wow, this sounds really exciting. I hope you include Derrida too (and possibly Levinas).
Michael White’s genius was his incredible ability in applying the various thinkers he read to counselling practice (Bruner, Vygotsky and Foucault of crouse being the most obvious examples). What really gets me though, given how difficult these theorists are to decipher, was the way the practices or approaches he established from reading them were just so simple to grasp; such that you don’t have to be a philosopher to ‘get it’; and so ‘doable’, utterly practicable, actually usable in real world practice – and in ways that renders these theorists ideas really significant and powerful in their effects.
With this in mind, I’d be so interested in hearing not only the general theories of each of the philosophers you choose to discuss, but also any ideas you have about possible practical applications these theorists may have for our counselling practice – especially in terms of those aspects that are ‘unique’ to the particular theorist you are discussing.
Anyways – just some thoughts..
Cheers

What your suggesting Brig is exactly what Todd and I are intending to do with the series. See you soon. Thanks!
