Article: Decolonizing our lives: A Practice of Post-colonial Family Therapy. Makungu Akinyela (USA)

About this Session

th-4Stephen Madigan first met Dr. Makungu Akinyela at a conference in Atlanta, Georgia in 1996. They got to talking and found common ground in Michel Foucault, anti-individualism, and the radical left. Shortly thereafter, VSNT invited Makungu to present his work on his African centred, post-colonial, decolonizing practices of therapy. Since that time he has guided, shaped, and challenged a generation of narrative and family therapists. Be sure to watch one of his keynote addresses on VSNT.live.
